I love having the opportunity to chaperone the kid's field trips. This time I went with Elijah's first grade class to Okinawa World. It is a touristy theme park about Okinawan culture. The three main attractions are the massive natural cave, a craft village and a snake museum.

The whole class!
The "Kingdom Village" is a replica of a traditional Ryukyu village with workshops introducing the various traditional Okinawan crafts, such as weaving, dyeing, paper making, pottery, sugar cone processing, the making of music instruments and glass blowing. Hands-on experiences are offered at many of the workshops.
This was one of the shops in the craft village.
Habu Park is named after the infamous, poisonous local Habu snake. It consists of a snake museum, a small, run down garden with some snakes on display and a snake show.

The cool mom did it too!!
But the parks main attraction is Gyokusendo, a 5000 meter long cave that was formed approximately 300,000 years ago. There is a 890-meter promenade to the public.
