April 2011

April was full of more and more fun adventures!

Feeding the Koi fish at Comprehensive Park!

Comprehensive Park has one of our favorite playgrounds.

Tire swing! Talia Khorassani, Elijah and Noah.

What's so fun, Noah? What's my monkey swinging from?

Oh...that!! Yeah, you know I had to give in on the fun!!

They just don't make them like this in the states!

My Little prince high in his castle.

Cutie pie!!

And silly guy!

The boys with another BFF-Cameron!!

Another happening in April:

Part of what I thought would be a "unique" punishment was actually fun for him....hmph...

I found Big Chill in the freezer one day. The kids said he needed a cold place to chill. Very understandable, so this is where he stayed.

Putt-Putt time!!

Another park day. This time at the one off of 20. Don't know the name? It's the one with the HUGE roller slide. Unfortunately, today it was closed. I suppose due to some sort of maintenance? So we went to the other side, where there was still plenty of fun.

Ummm, yeah. He'll go down a 3 story roller slide but was too scared to do the straight drop. Can't say I blame him though...I didn't do it either!!

An afternoon exploring the low tide...

Sea urchin

Sea snake!! First time I actually saw one in person!!

Another day of fun at the salt factory with our friends the Ernst's: Hyla, Nora, and David:-)

Stirring and stirring and stirring...

The water did eventually evaporate and there was salt!!

We got ours wrapped neatly. I actually display it as a souvenir and don't use it. We all did taste it while making it though. Good and salty!!

And this is a random store I always said I'd go inside one day to see if they sell what I think they sell. I regret never making the extra time to actually do it:-(

Cape Zanpa

Spring Break was an awesome week of visiting several places on my Oki Bucket List. One of them was the lighthouse. And we were pleasantly surprised by other things seen there as well.

This Okinawan man was selling pure sugar cane sticks. I can't remember how much they were, but cheap enough to let the kids try it out.

None of us liked it! Lol!

One of the best surprises was this HUGE shisha dog!

And I mean huge! Look at the boys on the hind foot!

Another fun surprise, a feeding area for goats. Noah LOVED it, as he loves every animal!

Now on to the Cape Zanpa, the lighthouse!

Oh wait, what is hiding in there??

A statue honoring someone or something. These are the times I wished I spoke and read Japanese. Cool, nonetheless!

Our boys!!

The kids with one of their BFF's and neighborhood friend, David.

A look down at how far we came to get to the top.

Another beautiful Okinawan view!!
