Weekend Getaway

What do we do while Tim is deployed?? Well, we try to make the best of every weekend to make time go by fast. On this adventure it was a long fun car ride to the Pineapple park and then a stay at the Okuma Resort!!! One word....awesome!!

Yes...this is a real sign along the interstate: Wild boar crossing!! Sort of like deer crossing or duck crossing but not quite!!
And here are the wild boars...

The kids and I in front of Pineapple Park. Noah was afraid of the weird looking Japanese person I asked to take the picture.

Inside the wine cellar....
The machines that make the pineapple wine. And let me tell you...I do not like wine or pineapple juice but bought a bottle!! They have a place where you can sample and taste all the different kinds of wine and juices....and all the bread, pie, pineapple cookies, candy...I mean you could totally have a "unhealthy" meal AND get drunk on the samples!!
Staci and Penelope
A museum that had tons of stuff. I didn't see the relevance with pineapples, but the kids had a blast looking at everything. Thank goodness we were the only ones in the place...the kids went wild!!
The automatic/no driver pineapple cart that took us through the park...

The biggest pineapple I've ever seen!!
(No, it's not real)

Yep, these are pineapples!

I jumped off our cart to take this picture and almost got ran over by the cart coming behind us!!
The pineapple path...

Forever...

And on to Okuma!!

Cool pic, huh?? Bunches of mollusks attached to an empty plastic bottle.

Penelope and the rat....don't ask!!
Noah and his 2 best buds!!

There are whales way out in the distance...at the crest of the water...
More...it was cool to see in person. Made me go buy tickets for the whale watching tour. Pictures of that to come. We go on the 21st!!

Lorelei's pina colada at the point where she started feeling dizzy...and yes, this was her first drink....in a long time...lol!!

Our grill...
All the food....yeah crazy I know...
Do you see the funny thing on the bottom center of the picture!! LOL!!
The kids on the lifeguard post...

Terri looking at the Pacific sunset...
It was so pretty here....
Kids running towards us....
And running away....
Look how blue the ocean is....

The kids thought this little hut was cool...so we went to check it out...

I saw awesome picture potential...
Looking out into the blue Pacific pond....

Thanks Lorelei, Staci, Terri, and Pamela for making this a great weekend!!!!
One more thing just for Staci: "Milk and Cereal"!!

Valentine's Day without Tim

With Tim gone on our FIRST official Valentine's Day as a married couple, I decided to go to a murder-mystery dinner thing my church had planned at Macaroni Grill. When I found out that my part in the "mystery" was a suave mafia GUY, I questioned the coordinator (Shannon) and was like: "Are you serious? I'm a guy?" She confirmed and after some thought I thought what the heck...might as well go all out and make this a fun night especially since Tim was gone and maybe I could focus on other things besides him not being here. SOOO glad I went and double glad that I totally acted and looked the part to make other people there laugh and have a good time. It was a blast! And of course because I am so cool I got a prize for "Dressed To Kill Award". And another plus: I found out about a really cool store called ETWS...almost like Spencer's!!! All in all....wonderful night!

Staci looking beautiful.....
Lorelei looking just as beautiful and lovely...

My Pastor, Robert Dunn, AKA cousin Vinny and his wife, Connie.
Check out Pastor's bling....he was so funny!

My other pastor, Amy Sheffield and her husband, Ryan.

Oops...a random shot of the boys wrestling...video to come later in this post!

That's Biff Buffaloni macking on some babes. Penelope looks like she is looking up like
